Join Bent Arild Mathiesen at the Irish Fly Fair

My name is Bent Arild Mathiesen and I live far up in northern Norway in a city called Tromsø. I am 56 years old, married and have 2 children aged 27 and 31. I work as a fuel truck operator at the airport here in Tromsø.

I have been tying flies since I was 15. Mainly flies for trout, sea trout, brown trout and stallion. In September 2015 I started tying the classic salmon flies and haven't looked back since. I find it so exciting and challenging to tie.

I fish almost all year round, mainly for sea trout up here in the north. But also after trout and brown trout. I haven't fished for salmon in 10 years, but I intend to start again in the 2023 season

I'm really looking forward to the Irish fly fair, tying flies among so many skilled tyers.

This will be my 4th time at the Irish fly fair, and I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends. If you come to the exhibition, come, and find me for a chat. I am very happy to answer questions.
